Revolutionary War Soldiers Clark County Indiana

Thomas Arbuckle was born 2 May 1747 Augusta County, Virginia, died 1843 in New Washington, Indiana, and is buried in the Adams graveyard. He was married on or before 1766, Augusta County, Virginia to Elizabeth Lawrence, born 1748, living in 1801. Their children: Ann married Henry James; Elizabeth married John Smith; Margaret married Daniel McKunney; John married Susanna Smith; Fanny married [1] Samuel Lawrence [2] J. Arbuckle [3] Phillip Rendenbaugh; Polly married James McCroskey; James born 18 Feb 1767, married Susanna Bland; Sally married Robert Robertson. He enlisted in Botetourt County, Virginia. He served 15 days as Lieutenant in Captain George Givens Virginia Company in expedition against Indians Rt. Big Island on the Holston River. He enlisted April 1780 for 6 months as private in Captain John Bowles Company, Colonel Benjamin Logan's Virginia Regiment. In battle with the Indians at Pickway. He enlisted 1782 in the same company for 6 months and was in battle at Big Miami. Was stationed at Whitley's Station, Kentucky. At the age of 86 [in 1833] he applied for pension, which was granted in 1833, Claim S. 16609. His descendant is Miss Kathryn Arbuckle #554414.
