!BIOGRAPHY: "Felix Matos Bernier, Su Vida Y Su Obra" by Carmen R. Diaz De Olano, (a biography of Felix Matos Bernier) Page 19. The reference to two sisters of Eulalia, "Teresa Y Carmelita", is believed to be a reference to sisters Teresa and Serafina Del Carmen.

!BIRTH-DEATH: According To Pedro J. Roig Alvarado In "Genealogical History Of The Berniers" Serafina's birth date is 1842 and her death was on 26 December, 1894 in Coamo, Puerto Rico.

!BAPTISM_CONFIRMATION: The baptism and confirmation ordinances were performed for Serafina by proxies in the Washington D.C. Temple on 19 March, 2005 during a Denbigh Ward, Newport News Stake, youth baptism excursion.

!DEATH: Civil registration of death in Coamo, Puerto Rico; FHL Microfilm # 1,855,579, Item # 3, Pages # 244, 245, & 246, Record # 312; NOTES: Carmen died on 26 December, 1894 in Coamo. Carmen was married twice. Her first husband was Juan Layas, or Zayas, and he died. Carmen then married Jose Blasini Mattey. Carmen and Jose have 3 children still living named Jose, Maria Luisa, and Enrique. Carmen's parents are recorded to be Marcos Bernier and Carmen Giraud. Carmen died from tuberculosis (tuberculosis y tesespidononar). The death was registered with cvil authorities on 27 December, 1894 at 1:00 pm in the afternoon, by Felipe Santiago Torres, the husband of Carmen's sister Teresa Bernier Giraud.
