Marcos and his wife Maria are first cousins. !Marcos and his wife were French decendants. The biography of Felix Matos Bernier states that they relocated, together with their sons, from France to Coamo, Puerto Rico, where they owned a magnificent ancestral manor. The biography also spells the name Girau, and not Giraud. Their daughter, Eulalia, married Federico Matos Gonzalez. !CENSUS: 1910 U.S. Federal Census of Coamo, Puerto Rico shows parents of Jose Segundo Bernier Giraud being born in Puerto Rico (father) and France (mother). !CONFLICT: Marcos Bernier's birth place needs to be verified. Roig in "Genalogical History Of The Berniers" Marcos' birth was in 1811 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, and his death was on 3 March, 1888 in Coamo, Puerto Rico. !BAPTISM_CONFIRMATION: The baptism and confirmation ordinances were performed for Marcos by proxies in the Washington D.C. Temple on 19 March, 2005 during a Denbigh Ward, Newport News Stake, youth baptism excursion. !DEATH_BURIAL: Civil Registrations / Deaths/ Coamo, Puerto Rico: LDS Film # 1855564, Item # 6, Book # 4, Record # 32, Page # 79: Marcos died on 2 March, 1888 in Coamo Puerto Rico.
