Sarah Copps was baptised on 20th October 1833 at Graveley in Hertfordshire, daughter of Rhoda Copps, formerly Gundril, and her husband John Copps, a labourer. In 1840, when Sarah was six years old, her father John died aged about 42. The following year's census finds Sarah living with her mother and sisters at Jacks Hill in Graveley. She has yet to be researched after 1841.
