Facts and Events
Rhoda Gundril was baptised on 7th April 1799 at Weston in Hertfordshire, daughter of William and Rhoda Gundril.
On 23rd June 1821, aged 22, Rhoda married John Copps, a labourer. They went on to have seven children together. The first two were baptised at Weston. Some time between 1825 and 1828 the family moved to the neighbouring parish of Graveley, where the other five children were baptised.
John died in 1840, aged 42. Rhoda was left looking after the children, the youngest of whom was only one year old when John died. The 1841 census finds Rhoda living at Jacks Hill in Graveley with her children.
Rhoda later moved to the nearby town of Baldock, where she lived on Norton Street. She died in 1849 aged 50. She was buried at Baldock on 10th July 1849.
