Elizabeth Copps was baptised on 13th January 1828 at Graveley in Hertfordshire, daughter of Rhoda Copps, formerly Gundril, and her husband John Copps, a labourer. In 1840, when Elizabeth was twelve years old, her father John died, aged about 42. The following year's census finds Elizabeth living with her mother and siblings at Jacks Hill in Graveley. She has yet to be researched after 1841.
