    Lanark County - Cemeteries provides a list of those buried in this cemetery from gravestone inscriptions. There may be other burials. Stone 149 lists a number of people from the Wilson family.

  4.   Samuel's baptismal registration is found at the bottom of the page covering 1794, indicating it was added afterward. Baptismal registrations for Colvend seldom give separate dates for birth and baptism and there are very few for "natural", as opposed to "lawful", children. There is thus reason to believe that Samuel was born illegitimate.

    A marriage has been found for Samuel's parents in December 1795 in Carlisle when the birth of the second child was imminent.
