MYTH's BUSTED

The Samuel Wims who migrated from Albemarle/Augusta Co. VA to Todd Co., KY WAS NOT the son of Bartholomew Weems who died in Abbeville, S.C. A land indenture written in 1798 Albemarle Co. VA and filed in court in 1804 names Samuel Wims brother William Wims as heir-at-law and primogeniture of Christopher Wyms deceased. Their mother Mildred Wims appears in the 1787 through 1800 Albemarle Co. VA personal property tax records.

Bartholomew Weems son Samuel Weems was born the 1 Sep 1772 and died May 29, 1855 in Abbeville S.C. and he married Mary Stephenson.
