- Page 343.--19th June, 1764. John Ramsey's bond (with Jno. Gay, Jas. McCoy) as guardian to Mary, John, Francis, Hugh, Rebecca, William, Elizabeth and Samuel McDonell, orphans of John McDonell.
- Vol. 1 - June 19, 1764 - John Ramsey chosen guardian by Mary McDonald, 16, John McDonald 14, and court appoints him guardian for Francis, Hugh, Rebecca, William, Elizabeth and Samuel McDonald, all orphans of John McDonald.

- Beq: to wife Eleanor "benefits, profits, perogatives and control of lands on the Cowpasture, where he now lives with slaves Hannah and Dolly and their increase, bed and furniture, cupboard and contents, "foulding" table, large chest, and all kitchen furniture

- to son Samuel 250 acres on Mill Creek and $62 owed him
- to son James Crocket McDonnald $1 "on account of ample provision previously made:
- to son William Negro Jack
- to sons Thomas and Andrew S. lands on the Cowpasture and 110 acres on Mayse's Mountain; if they disagree on the division, thery are "not to go to law" but allow settlement to be made by disinterested neighbors
- upon his wife's deceasse, sons Thomas and Andrew are to pay son $300 and upon his decease to hige Hugh one year of schooling or the value thereof "to prepare him to receive some mechanical profession"
- to daughter Martha, wife or Robert McClung, Negro woman Aggy now in her possession and her increase
- to daughter Rebeckah, Negro woman Alse, bed and furniture and a sorrel mare
- to daughter Eleanor, Negro Mariah, bed and furniture and a horse
- to daughter Polly, Negro boy Beverley, bed and furniture, horse and saddle
- to sons Thomas and Andrew S., Negro boy Nelson and at wife's decease the slaves left her; rifle gun and shot pouch
- to daughter Elizabeth, Negro boy Harry, bed and furniture and a horse of her choice after reserving the team for the wagon, and a good saddle; $300 is to be paid her by Thomas and Andrew, $150 in three years and $150 at wife's death
- to sons Thomas and Andrew the waggon and team of 5 horses
- the four daughters Elizabeth, Rebeckah, Eleanor and Polly to have "a decent subsistence out of the proceeds of my lands" while they remain single
- any balance to his wife
