Samuel is known only from his father's Will. He and his brother James inherited his father's plantation. James sold this property, alone, in 1803, therefore it is assumed that Samuel was deceased by that time. From Ancestry family tree

Another possibility is that this Samuel is the one sometimes identified as appearing in the Cumberland Settlement, otherwise identified as the son of person:William Edmiston (5). A possible confusion may have occurred, linking the Samuel of the Cumberland settlements to Col. William, instead of William (3)
