- Stevenson, Robert - born 5/20/1753 in Augusta County, Virginia, where entered service 1776 in Virginia regiment; father sold plantation there in 1779, & they moved to Greenbrier County, Virginia, where soldier entered service 1779 in virginia regiment; resided after Revolutionary War in South Carolina, thence Carroll County, Tennessee, where applied for pension in 1832; Pension Application Rejected, insufficient proof of service; query letter in file states soldier married Isabella & they had children: Isabella (md. Mr. Setterr), Nancy (md. Mauldin Reeves), Sallie (md. Isaac Lawhorne), Mary (md. Ishmael Bailey), Elizabeth (md. Mr. Collins), James (md. Sallie ---), William (never married, died Carroll County, Tennessee), David, John, Joseph, Samuel & Thomas, also soldier & wife resided 1790 in Veranes, Pendleton District, South Carolina, & they died Carroll County, Tennessee, near present site of Huntington, Tennessee; query letter in flie from great great granddaughter Mrs. Lena Lacy Murdoch, Jackson, Tennessee.
