1753 - COMMUNICANTS AT TIMBER RIDGE, 1753: The names in this list are those who signed a call for the Reverend John Brown: Kirkpatrick, Robert. (Including many others).

New road surveyors appointed: Andrew Taylor, (from North River to Stuart's More; Captain John Taylor, from Stuart's old store to Colonel Samuel McDowell's; John McClung, from said McDowell's to the forks of the road at John McClung's; Andrew Moore, from said forks to the county line; James Gilmore, from Buffalo Creek to his own house; Charles Campbell, from Robert Kirkpalrick's to the county line; Hugh Barclay, Sr., from said Gilmore's to the county line; Samuel McCampbcll, from head of Kerr's Creek to Andrew McCampbell's; William McKemy, from Andrew McCampbcll's to ford on North River; Alexander Tedford. from Robert Kirkpatrick's to North River; Alexander Willson, from Captain Charles Campbell's to Hugh Weir's; Samuel Caruthers, from Buffalo Creek to the forks of the road above James Gilmore's.

Information on Robert Kirkpatrick

In Rockbridge Co. VA, the will of Robert Kirkpatrick probated 1780, names daughter Elizabeth Stevenson and Robert Stevenson was one of the executors. There was another marriage between Robert Kirkpatrick's daughter Jean and James Gay. James Gay's first wife, Jane Warwick, was killed by the Indians, 1759 leaving him with 8 children. He married Jean Kirkpatrick as second wife. Jane Gay, daughter of James and first wife, married Samuel Stevenson, younger brother of Robert.

Photocopies of these Bible records are in possession of this compiler. They say "William Stevenson, son of Robert Stevenson and wife Elizabeth was born 19 July 1765. William Stevenson and Rachel Kirkpatrick were married Jan 4, 1786. Note the birth of Rachel is not given. William Stevenson died Nov 8, 1826, aged 61 yrs 8 mos."
