- Vol. 2 - Marriage Bond: 1796--July 18, Robert Cantley and Thos. Turk, surety. Robert Cantley and Nancy Johnston (of age), daughter of Robert Johnston.
- Vol. 2 - Poage vs. Brown--O. S. 136; N. S. 47--. Orators are, viz: George, Robert, Sr., and Robert, Jr., Poage. In 179_ orators, being desirous of forming a settlement on Ohio River between mouths of the two Sandy Rivers in Kentucky, applied to James Brown, who was intimately acquainted with the land claims, who told them the lands were owned by him and Wade Moseby. He showed an entry for 5,000 acres in name of John Moseby, deceased, and one for 3,000 acres and represented they had been surveyed by Robert Johnston, a man notoriously conversant in land claims. There was an interlock (claimed) with the entries of Harvie Thurston and Taylor and of John Craig, Francis Taylor and Abraham Buford. James Brown's answer in New Orleans, 19th June, 1806. - Vol. 2 - Robert Adams vs. Johnson--O. S. 171; N. S. 60--Bill, 1809. Orator's uncle, _____ Adams, about 177_ resided in that part now Washington County and had surveyed to him a lot from the Loyal Company. He sold to Hugh Johnston, who sold to Buchanan, and then died. Orator's uncle moved to Kentucky. Hugh Johnston and Robert Johnston were brothers. Thomas Edmonson married the only daughter and heir of said _____ Buchanan. Robert and Hugh Johnson have no heirs except in Ireland.
