There passed away at his home in Brussels early Sunday morning March 6th, Robert G. Dark in his seventy-eight year. Born in the year 1860 on the 11th concession of Grey township, he was one of a large family of ten children three having passed on before. There were six brothers and four sisters. Mr. Dark suffered a severe stroke on Feb. 22nd and was unable to speak after. Rev. H. J. Mahoney preached from Jhn 14th chap. My Peace give I unto your not as the world giveth, give I unto you, Lo my peace I leave with you. To all who confidently trust in God's mercy and love Peace which passeth all human understanding will come to strengthen a fainting and bewildered soul. Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane in the great struggle of His soul called upon God for comfort and Guidance and God sustained Him. The minister referred to the longhonorable record of the late brother Dark as Superintendent of the Brussels Cemetery and caretaker of the United Church for thirty years. He also was a loyal devoted member of the choir. His kindly and gracius manner was always an inspiration to all who knew him. The Hymns used at the service were "Abide with me", "Safe in the Arms of Jesus".
Son of my soul thou Saviour dear.
    Servant of God well done
    Thy glorious warfare's past
The battles fought the victory's won
And thou Art crowned at last.
