Personal History
Reginald Evelyn Anderson Pelham,[2] (Gent.,) (third) son of (the Hon.) Evelyn Anderson Pelham of Caythorpe by Harriett Frances[2] Hutton[1] (and grandson of the second Earl of Yarborough, deceased), was baptized on 6 January 1884 in the parish of Caythorpe, Lincolnshire, England[2] (registered in the district of Newark[1]).

On 21 November 1921, Reginald Evelyn Anderson Pelham (age 38, bachelor, occ. civil servant of Tanganyika territory) of Castor, son of the Hon. Evelyn Anderson Pelham deceased, and Diana Marian Lee (age 38, spinster) of Grove Hall near Knottingley, daughter of Major William Frederic Lee, were married after banns in the church of St Luke and All Saints in the parish of Darrington, Yorkshire, England (registered in the district of Pontefract).

Reginald Evelyn Anderson Pelham and Sylvia Augusta Long were married in 1951 (registered in the district of Chelsea).
In 1960, Reginald, then of Wood End House in the parish of Pertenhall, Bedfordshire, firstly adopted the surname of Pelham in lieu of Anderson-Pelham (by deed poll dated 28 June and enrolled in the College of Arms on 10 July 1960)[3] and secondly adopted the surname of Welby-Pelham (by deed poll dated 16 September and enrolled on 20 September 1960).[4] Charles, styled Esquire, received a grant by royal licence of Queen Elizabeth II on 12 June 1961 to him and his issue to take and bear the Arms of Welby quarterly with those of his own family.[5] (This follows the death of his brother Charles in 1959 who had previously received the same grant of arms.)
Death and Probate
Reginald Evelyn Welby-Pelham of Wood End House, in the parish of Pertenhall, Bedfordshire, died there on 19 March 1965[7] (registered in the district of Bedford[6]).
On 22 July 1965 at Nottingham, administration was granted to (his wife) Sylvia Augusta Welby-Pelham, widow, David Andrew Long, company managing director, and Hugh Tallents, solicitor. His effects were in the amount of £70,060.[7]
