Personal History

Charles Anderson Worsley [Anderson] Pelham,[1] (first) son of the Hon. Charles Anderson Pelham (later Earl of Yarborough) and Henrietta Anna Maria Charlotte Bridgeman[1] (Simpson), was born on 12 April 1809, and he was baptized on 5 May in the parish of St Marylebone, Middlesex, England.[1]

After his father was created an earl in 1837, Charles was styled Lord Worsley.

Upon the death of his father on 5 September 1846, Charles succeeded as Earl of Yarborough (2nd, created 1837), and Baron Worsley of Apuldurcombe (2nd, 1837), in the United Kingdom; and Baron Yarborough (3rd, 1794), in Great Britain.

On 19 December 1831, the Hon. Charles Anderson Worsley Pelham (bachelor) of the parish of Brocklesby, Lincolnshire, and the Hon. Maria Adelaide Maude (spinster; a minor with the consent of her father Viscount Hawarden) of the parish of Brighthelmston, Sussex, were married by special licence in the parish of Brighthelmston by Edward Everard, the Rector of Southwick, Sussex.

Death and Probate

The Right Hon. Charles Anderson Worsley Earl of Yarborough of Brocklesby, Lincolnshire, died on 7 January 1862 at Brighton, Sussex[2] (registered in the district of Brighton[3]).

On 1 April 1862, at Lincoln,[3] his will was proved by the sole executor, his son the Right Hon. Charles Maude Worsley Earl of Yarborough of Brocklesby. His effects were under £140,000.
