Hance Peter Hermann AKA Peter Harmon was born in 1733 at Rotterdam ,Netherlands where his parents Jacob and Maria Catherina [ Pauschen ] Hermann AKA Harmon and thier Family were awaiting Passage on the Brigantine, Richard and Elizabeth Sailing to the Colonies and arriving Sept 1733. So, when Peter was 20 years of age in 1753 it is safe to assume that he was of Marriage age so he wed Margarett Choulyn and proceeded to Father at least 18 Children. Contemporary Records suggest that Anna,Milly,George Charles,Mariah Elizabeth,Phillip,Barbara,John,Thomas,Isaac,Henry,Sarah,Susannah,Stephen,William,Margaret,Peter,Moses, and Nancy were born to them and this process took at least 18 years and as I came from a large Family myself I would venture that it took at least 20 years or more for all these children to be born.So around 1773 Margarett says" Stop, Enough" and it ceased with out any child named "Christian" being born to this couple. I am not cognizant of the order of Birth or if the first several Births were male or not. Maybe Christian was born of an older Son of Peter and Margaret. This I do not know. I have seen the name Christian while searching Records but never when chasing Peter Harmon. Peter lived to at least 1805 and Margaret lived past 1778. Chalkeys Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish in Virginia 1745-1800 makes note of an Extracation from the original Abstracts of Wills of Augusta Cty. Va. Page 144 that on 20 Feb.1750-51 from the Estate of Mathias Shaw Jacob Harmon and Peter Herman each bought some of the Personality[Property]of said Shaw. Peter would have been around 17-18 years of age,Peter died in 1787 at Greene Cty. Tenn. Jacob would have been elderly at 87-88 years of age. Jacob died Before 1764,he was my 6th Grand Father.I would recommend any one interested to pursue reading "Chalkeys Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish in Vvirginia 1745-1800." It can be found by Googleing the Title on the Net.
