Early Land Acquisition in Augusta County, VA

Moses Eagar's land (Beverley Manor SW, 129 acres, acquired on 11th August 1768 from William Tincher, who had acquired this tract in 1764 from Robert Douglas, part of the 202-acre tract patented to Thomas Shields in 1749 (the 129-acre tract appears to be the south-east portion of the original 202-acre tract, orange line shown is approximate) as shown on the map meticulously drawn by J.R. Egar, Martha. Will Probate April 1789. Names "my beloved child, Jane Logan." Bequeaths to her "one horse, one calico gown, one still gown, a silk bunnit, a cotton hankerchief, a silk ditto, and all that she was to get of Moses Egers estate."
