Mareen Tyler Lamar, son of William Bishop Lamar and Elizabeth (Smith) Lamar was born August 17, 1794 and on January 18, 1815 married Rebecca Rice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Rice. He inherited an extensive tract of land in Breckenridge Co. KY . There Mareen Tyler Lamar and his wife became the parents of William, James, Elizabeth, Benoni Smith, Martha, John Thomas, Sarah Ann and Robert Coston.

He came to KY around 1808 but returned to Maryland to get married and bring his bride to Kentucky. Prior to his marriage, he came to KY in 1813 and 1814 bringing his sisters to live in KY at that time.

After the death of Rebecca (Rice) Lamar, Mareen Tyler went to live with his daughter Susannah Ann Faulconer until he died Nov. 20, 1888 at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 3 days.
