Mary Dingley was baptised on 19th April 1746 at Cropthorne in Worcestershire, daughter of Ann Dingley, formerly Loxley, and her husband Francis Dingley. In 1761, when Mary was fifteen years old, her mother died.

On 27th December 1769, aged 23, Mary married William Loxley at Cropthorne. They went on to have ten children baptised at Cropthorne between 1770 and 1788, although at least two of them died young.

Mary's father died in 1786. She was left £20 under his will, with the will noting that her husband "had received her marriage portion".

In 1793 Mary's eldest son, William, was articled to a Joseph Lavender of Evesham as an attorney and solicitor. The articles refer to Mary's husband William as being a farmer of Cropthorne at that time.

In 1816 Mary was mentioned, albeit not by name, in her brother William Dingley's will, being described as "my sister the wife of William Loxley", suggesting that William was then still alive. William has yet to be traced after 1816, with no burial record having been found. There were two sets of administration records for people called William Loxley of Cropthorne during 1821, either of which may have been him.

Mary died aged 79, being buried at Cropthorne on 10th June 1825.
