The funeral of Mrs. Lovira Winans, who died at her home in Warren last Friday, was held at the M.E. church on Sunday afternoon. A large concourse, of sorrowing friends were present. Rev. W. N. Webster conducted the services, preaching from the text found in Job 14.14 and 15: "If a man dies shall he live again? ". A quartet composed of Fred Johnson and wife and Mrs. N.H. Thompson and Avery Love sang three selections. Four sons acted as pall-bearers, Sidney, William, Nelson and Bird. In early life Mrs. Winans united with the M.E. church and has always been a consistent Christian woman. Her girlhood was spent in Bristol where she has a large circle of friends, many of whom attended the funeral. For over 20 years she has lived in Mecca and by her exemplary life has won a host of friends, who mourn her death and extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. Mrs. Winans was the mother of ten children. Those present at the funeral were Sidney, wife and children of West Mecca; William, wife and children of Greene, Nelson, wife and children of Warren; Mrs Lou Armstrong and son, Warren, Miss Maud, Bird and Tod of Warren. She lays at rest beside three children who preceded her: James, her oldest son and Misses Julia and Vernie.
