AN OLD CITIZEN
CALVIN W. HUNTLEY AGED 93 YEARS PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING
Calvin W. Huntley, one [of] Trumbull county's well known residents, passed away about 5 o'clock this morning at the home of his son, Austin Huntley on the Van Wye farm south of town, after an illness of but a few days' duration with a very severe cold.
A little over a year ago Mr. Huntley suffered a stroke of apoplexy and since then he has been in a very feeble condition.
Mr. Huntley was born June 3, 1813, in Canandaigua, N.Y., which makes him in his ninety-fourth year.
In 1846 he moved to Bristol with his family and resided there until his wife died about fifteen years ago. Since then he has made his home among his children, but for the past year he has lived with his son, Austin.
Mr. Huntley has always been a member of the Methodist church since boyhood. His occupation had always been that of a farmer, when his health permitted.
He was a soldier in the Sixth Ohio Cavalry and served about eighteen months, b[e]ing a member of Company B.
He was the father of thirteen children, ten of whom survive and are: Dr. W.N. Huntley, Austin Huntley, Oscar Huntley of this city; Scott Huntley, Farmington; George Huntley, Mecca; Leigh Huntley, Wisconsin; Mrs. John [Estella J.] Adams, Lisbon; Mrs Ida Render and Mrs. Ada Miller, of Cleveland, and Mrs. Hattie Abrams of Bristol.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at the residence of A.P. Huntley on the Van Wye farm south of town with the Rev. W.B. Winters of the First M.E. Church officiating. Burial will take place in Bristol.
