Granger

At eleven o'clock today the south wind brought the sound of the church bell's toll from Sharon Center, that a little daughter of Thomas Christman was to be buried, aged about two years; while at the same moment the church bell in Granger announced the death of Mrs. Huntley, relict of Mr. Rufus Huntley of Coddingville who died several years since. Mrs. H. was nearly eighty-nine years of age. Into this conflict of life we are drafted at birth, and mustered out at death; so that the day of one's death is better than the day of his birth, said one who claimed the gift of more wisdom than had fallen to the lot of any before him, and there can be no good reason to doubt the statement.
