[edit] Obituary (from the Unionville Republican?)Liberty K. Flanagan, beloved husband of Mary Jane McKinley Flanagan, was born in Mendota, Putnam County, Mo., September 16, 1859, was married Feb. 22, 1880, and passed away at the home of his son, Dana C. Flanagan, in Unionville, Mo., at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 2 days. He joined the Christian church here under the ministry of Rev. Smith. Mr. Flanagan spent all his life up to 1910 in Putnam county, at which time he moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he was engaged in the manufacturing industry. Returning to Unionville in the month of Sept., 1932, to reside with his son, Dana C. Mr. Flanagan leaves the following surviving relatives: sons and daughters - Daisy L. Cook, Mary Selleck, and Norma McFadden all of Kansas City, Mo.; Jessie F. White of Minneapolis, Minn.; Robert M. Flanagan of Chicago, Ill.; and Dana C. Flanagan of Unionville, Mo.; several grandchildren, and 2 sisters - Maude Ferne Flanagan and Danty Lulu Flanagan. The funeral which was conducted by Rev. R. L. Burns, was held in the Christian Church Sunday, November 20, (1932) at 2:30 p.m.
[edit] Personal MemoryMy father, Dana Junior Flanagan, told the story of dinner table conversations during the time that his grandparents lived in his father, Dana C Flanagan's home. Dana C and Liberty K discussed the fact that their middle initials were just that, initials. Neither of their initials stood for any middle name. ---Michael Flanagan Image Gallery
