1st husband: October 14, 1855 - Hartford, Putnam Co., MO - Bryant Flanagan. Three Sons: Liberty K. Flanagan, Union Flanagan, and Merrit Flanagan. 2nd husband: March 16, 1865 - Horace Smith Jewell. 1888 History of Putnam County, Missouri. pp. 526-528: George W. Ruth is prominent in this description of the history of the Putnam County Agricultural Society. It appears to have been an organization which put on a county fair and maintained the county fair's grounds. At one point, the quality of the race-track is mentioned. George W. Ruth was a incorporater on January 14, 1871; was listed as an early trustee and an early treasurer. He served as Treasurer for many years and is listed as treasurer from 1880-1883. In 1887 he was elected president. p. 571: May 8, 1871 G.W. Ruth Elected to City Council in Unionville. His relationship to Phoebe Myers Ruth is not known. also, on p. 541: At the last Teacher's Institute, August 1887; "Taking an active part.. ." were: Unionville--. . . Jessie Ruth. . .
