Josephine Bertha Apel was born 30 May 1910 to Heinrich Apel and Josephine (Clos) Apel in Detroit, Michigan. She worked as a clerk in a newspaper office and on 18 Aug. 1950, at the age of 40, married Theodore William Ream. They had no children. Josephine lived her final years in a nursing home with Altzheimer's disease and died 14 April 2010, just short of her 100th birthday.
