    Joseph Tenney, born in Bradford, Mass., (now Groveland), 16 March, 1698-9, son of Elder Samuel and Sarah (Boynton); married at the First Church in Bradford 14 February, 1722-3, Abigail (Annie) Wood, a daughter of John and Isabel (Hazen); daughter of Edward Hazen. Mrs. Tenney … united with the First Congregational Church 7 September, 1718. He had previously united with the same church 6 July, 1718. (Church Manual.) In 1723, he removed to Norwich, Conn., and that same year was admitted to the colony. The birth of the children received from Norwich Town Record. Mr. Tenney removed to Woodbury, Conn., where he died 20 April, 1775. The original inventory of his property is extant, and now with the papers of the late Prof. Jonathan Tenney, Albany, N. Y. Said inventory bears date of 3 July, 1775. Valuation, £821.17s.1d. (E. A. Tenney.)
