    Daniel Tenney, born in Bradford, Mass. (now Groveland), 14 Feb., 1701-2, son of Elder Samuel and Sarah (Boynton); married Sarah Kimball, who died 31 Aug., 1732, aged twenty-seven years. He married 15 May, 1733, his second wife, Ann Coleman of Newburyport, Mass., by Rev. Christopher Tappan. Residence, Bradford, where he united with the Congregational Church 26 June, 1720, and died 7 May, 1751; … . (Essex Co. Probate Records, 30, pp. 84, 133, 146, 199, 33, 166). Children named Daniel and Sarah, "over fourteen years," Shubael "under 14 years were put under guardianship of" Deacon Jonathan Tenney of Bradford 9 Dec., 1751. Daniel Tenney was appointed 6 March, 1733, guardian of Maximillian "upwards of 14 years of age" and son of his brother, John, of Bradford. … His son, Thomas, appointed administrator, 19 August, 1751. (Essex Deeds, 330:167.) Bond, £1,000. Widow Ann refused administration at Bradford 18 November, 1751. She says in a note that Thomas is her eldest son. Inventory taken 4 November, 1751; about 130 acres of land with buildings thereon, including some land in Townsend and Rowley; real estate, £359.6s.8d.; whole amount of inventory, £486.5s.5d. Money, £1.5s.6d. (Essex Deeds, 330:265.) Division and distribution of estate; dower set off to widow, Ann Tenney, 20 April, 1752; eldest son, Thomas; a double share to Sarah, only daughter; Daniel, second son, and Thomas, "to pay Shubael money." (Essex Deeds, 333:338.) … They are buried in the family lot at Groveland, under a decorated slate tablet with face, etc., which is red with age.
