[edit] The Estate of Deacon Philip Tenney"The will of Deacon Philip Tenney, gentleman, "being Infirm of Body," bequeaths to wife, Jane, "the use of one-third of my land, and that part of the house which I now improve, the garden, etc., for her life; the firewood to be supplied by my three sons, Solomon, William, and John." To son Solomon, land at Bare Hill and land in the new pasture; the Harriman lot in Bradford and Rowley, and salt marsh at Bletchford (so called); to son William, various lots of land, with the house and barn; to son John, several lots of land; to daughter Jane, wife of Jeremiah Eames, £6, "my great Bible" and "a gold necklace." Sons Solomon and William, executors; witnesses, Thomas Tenney, James Palmer, and William Greenough. Dated 1 July, 1771; proved 5 January, 1784. Inventory, eighty-seven acres of land, with house, etc., £551.15s.; personal property, £94.11s.8d. "Part of a pew in the Meeting house," £2.8s.; military armor, £1; "Bible and other Books," £1.13s. (Essex Probate.) He had land in Bridgton, Me., and Townsend, Mass."[1] References
