Advisory on Joseph Love

There was another possibly unrelated Joseph Love (that married Mary Teas, daughter of Joseph Teas, in abt. 1752) living in early Augusta County that may be confused with this Joseph Love. This Joseph Love lived in the Roanoke Settlement area, married Margaret Bryan (daughter of William Bryan), and was killed by Indians in 1758, as listed below.

Joseph Love and Brother William Killed by Indians in 1758

Joseph Love is included in the list from Chalkley's of Indian Attacks of 1755-1759 in Augusta County of settlers killed by "the enemy" (most likely Shawnee Indians being spurred on by the French) in Augusta County:

Joseph Love, at Roanoke, killed; Wm. Love, at Roanoke, killed; servant maid and child, at Roanoke, prisoners.
