- From Ancestry Message Board:
- Does anyone know of an Eleanor or Elinor Carper married to John Watkins at the time of his death in Botetourt, VA, 1784-5? 2 sons Joel and Jonathon, daughters Agnes & Mary mentioned in his will, along with a wife Elinor.
- Joel and Jonathon Watkins were given to Jacob Carper after their father's death, as they were minors. (So maybe Elinor died also). Jacob Carper appears in Jefferson County, TN (could be son of Jacob who was the guardian). Joel and Jonathon also appear in Jefferson County TN, then moved to Whitley County, KY, then to Coosa County, AL.
- Both families may have links to PA.
