- McGee, John - entered service 1778 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, where resided, in 12th Virginia Regiment; moved after Revolutionary War to Tennessee, where he resided Warren County 1818; died there 1/24/1820; married 1792 to Esther Clendenning, Sevier County, Tennessee who died 1/1846 in Warren County, Tennessee, leaving children: Jane widow of James Hennessee, Polly wife of Ezekiel McGregor, John, Salley, Samuel & James L.; Charles M. Forrest, administrator of widow's estate, applied for pension in 1852 for her children; Pension Application Rejected, insufficnent proof of her marriage. F-R6717, R1683.
