Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 3, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :

Martin, John - entered service 1776 in Augusta County, Virginia; granted Pension age 58 in Clark County, Kentucky in 1818; resided there in 1820 with wife abt. age 60, unmarried daughter age 19 & son age 16; query letter in file in 1939 from Estelle C. (Mrs. Charles H.) Watson, Evanston, Illinois, says she was descendant of Revolutionary War Soldier John Martin (father John resided in West Indies before coming to America), who married Sarah Jeffreys (born 1755, died 7/13/1830) & they had children: Enoch, William, Joseph, Jeffreys, Jacob, Elizabeth, & John, further John & Sarah moved from Virginia to Shelby County, Kentucky, then in 1814 to Washington County, Indiana, further their daugter Elizabeth married John, son of Revolutionary War soldier Peter Martin; query letter in file states soldier died Clark County, Kentucky, & wife's first name was Rachel [this is in error, likely referring to a different John Martin].
