- This Deed made the 15th day of March 1852 between Catherine Lambert widow of John Lambert dec* Harvey Lambert & Mary Jane his wife, Ruben Lambert & Susan his wife, Addison Lambert & Nancy his wife, Samuel A. Burgess & Mary his wife late Mary Lambert, Michael Kershner & Sally his wife late Sally Lambert, John B. Hamilton & Nancy his wife late Nancy Lambert of the one part & Wm. Howle of the other part of the County of Augusta & State of Virginia. Witness that in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand dollars. The parties affirmed do grant unto the said Wm. Howle with special warrant a certain tract or parcel of land on the Long Glade and bounded as follows, Beginning at a large white oak comes to John Bell's land with said Bell's land N.13. E. 61 p to a white oak S. 83 W. 56 P to a forked black oak N 37 W. 54 p to a black oak stump N.68 W. 26 p to two hickories & a black oak N.56 W. 103 P. to two black oaks & a white oak grubs on Bell's line S. 30 W. 69 P. to three black oak & a white oak on Millers lines. S. 57 E. 239 P. to a white oak and hickory on Robertson's line N. 33 1/2 E. 35 P. to the beginning. Witness the following signature and sealed-

- We James M. Silley & William Wilson justers for the County of Augusta do truly certify that Mary J. Lambert the wife of Harvey Lambert & Susan Lambert the wife of Ruben Lambert parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 15th day of March 1852 personally appeared before us in our County of aforesaid & being examined by us privately and apart from their husbands and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to them. They the said Mary J. Lambert & Susan Lambert acknowledge the same to be their act and deed & declare that they had willingly signed sealed & delivered the same & that they wished not to retract it. Given under our hand & seals this 16th day of May 1852.

- I hereby certify that Harvey Lambert & Ruben Lambert parties to the said written deed personally appeared before me and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and desired me to certify the said acknowledgment to the Clerk of County Court of Augusta in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under my hand this 2nd August 1852.

- I John Rimel a Justice of the peace in the county afore said and State of Virginia, do hereby certify that Catherine Lambert and Samuel A. Burgess parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 15th day of March 1852 personally appeared before me in my County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and desire me to certify the said acknowledgment to the Clerk of the County Court of Augusta in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under my hand this 15th days of September 1852

- Know All men by these presents that we Harvey Lambert & David Blackwood are held and firmly bound to the commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of six hundred dollars to the payees whereof well and truly to be made to the Commonwealth of Virginia we bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our heirs executor and administrator jointly and severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and dated this 8th day of May in the year of our Lord 1849 and in the 73rd year of the Commonwealth. The Condition of this obligation is that if the said Harvey Lambert administrator of the Goods, Chattels and Credits of John Lambert deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of him the said Harvey Lambert or in the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him, and the same so made do exhibit unto the County Court of Augusta when he shall be thereunto required by the said Court and such Goods, Chattels and Credits do well and truly administer according to Law, and further do make a just and true account of his acting's, and doings therein when thereto required by the said Court, and all the rest of the said Goods, Chattels and Credits which shall be found remaining upon the account the said administrator, the same being first examined and allowed by the justices of the said Court for the time being shall deliver unto such persons respectively, as are entitled to the same by Law, and if it shall hereafter appear that any Last Will and Testament was made by the said deceased and the same be proved in Court, and the executor obtain a Certificate of the Probate thereof, and the said Harvey Lambert do in such case being required render and deliver up his letter of administration. Then his obligation would be void, else to remain in full force.
