About 1796 John [Hutchinson] and his wife moved from Virginia to Bourbon County, Kentucky near Paris. They were accompanied by William Frazier and his wife Jean Finley, a sister of Margaret. Both families resided on farms in Bourbon County, Ky. until 1806 when, because they were opposed to slavery, they removed to Greene County, Ohio.
