Early Land Acquisition in Augusta County, VA

Disposition of Land from Chalkley's:

  • Page 476.--17th August, 1773. John Henderson, farmer, and Ann ( ) to Jacob Bear, part of 250 acres patented to James Thompson and conveyed to Samuel Henderson and by him to John, his son, mouth of Little Is Run. Delivered: Valentine Shirley, February, 1779. (Note: this record shows that John had this land conveyed to him by his father, Samuel Henderson).
