  • Vol. 1 - 1751-1752. Petition of inhabitants between Jennings Branch and North River (Gap of Swift Run), it being the nighest way to the chief of our market places, May 20, 1752. Hands to mark ye road, Sampson Archer and John Young. hands to mark from Gap to North River, John Hair and Hugh Camble, and thence to the great road already cut. From Gap to Long Glade, thence to North River, thence to the great road leading to the Gap. Patrick Frazier (rest torn).
  • Vol. 1 - May 20, 1752. (248) Road ordered from Jenning's to Swift Run Gap. John Hare to mark it from No. River to said Gap, "the main road that leads to Swift Run Gap."
  • 20 May 1752 O. S., p. 248 - On the Motion of Sundry the Inhabitants It is Ordered that a Road be Cleared from Jenning's to Swift run Gap and that Sampson Archer and John Young mark the sd Road from the begining to the North River & that John Hare and Hugh Campbell mark it from thence to Swift Run Gap, and that Wm Hogshead be Overseer of the sd Road from the begining to the Long Glade, John Francis to the sd North River and that Patrick Frazier to the Main Road that Leads to the sd Swift run Gap and that with the Adjacent titheables they Clear and keep the Same in repair According to Law.
