Advisory
- Advisory: some researchers have thought that John Gentry born abt. 1709 in Hanover County, Virginia was the same John Gentry that left a will in Botetourt County, Virginia in 1779, with wife Mary and unspecified children. Based upon recent research of "The Gentry Journal", it appears that there were likely two different John Gentry's, "Sr." and "Jr.", and that John Gentry Sr. was likely the youngest son of Nicholas Gentry I of New Kent and Hanover County, Virginia. Additional research is necessary on this family.
