  • Vol. 1 - 5 Sep 1799 William Chambers Gilbert Christian & John Fleiger to Hugh Donaghe sold 38 acres on the waters of Naked Creek for £50 be the same more or less that was devised to Elizabeth Blair by her brother John Blair by his will dated 15th day April 1788 and the sd. Elizabeth having intermarried with a certain Joseph Byers he thereby became Intitled to the sd. Land and the sd. Joseph Byers by a Deed of Trust bearing date the 20th day of September 1796 conveyed the sd. Land to the aforesaid William Chambers Gilbert Christian & John Fleiger to secure a debt due from sd. Byers to sd. Chambers which sd. Deed is also of record and the Land being Sold at public Sale agreeeable to sd. Deed the aforesd Hugh Donaghe being the highest bidder became the purchaser. Staunton District Court September the 5th 1799 This deed of bargain and sale from William Chambers Gilbert Christian & John Fleiger to Hugh Donaghe was acknowledged in Court by the sd. Christian Chambers & Fleiger & ordered to be recorded. [VA, Augusta Co., Circuit Court Deed Book 1-A, p. 288-90]
  • Vol. 1 - CIRCUIT COURT RECORDS. SEPTEMBER, 1799 (M to G). - John McCue vs. Robert Bailey. John Fleiger and Robert Donaldson-— Delivering bond, March, 1799.
  • Vol. 2 - Marriage Bond: 1801—March 21, Amos Hook and John Fleiger, surety. Amos Hook and Catharine Fleiger, daughter of above John Fleiger.
  • Peter Hanger's will: 2d January 1802:--To son, Peter, to Peter Rush, who married daughter Barbara; to son John; son, George; son, Frederick; to Frederick Fultz who married daughter Hannah; to daughter Catherine; son, David [infant]; tract whereon King, the Schoolmaster, formerly lived to be sold. Nine children. Executors, sons Peter and Jacob and Peter Rush. Teste: Jacob Swoope, S. Blackburn. Addendum says: Have sold the King plantation to Peter Rush and he has conveyed to me the plantation on the Winchester Road occupied now by John Fleiger, which is to be sold. To Caty Dillenger, who now lives with testor, under 18. Proved 27th December 1802. Peter Rush refuses to execute. Others qualify.
  • Vol. 1 - CIRCUIT CAUSES ENDED. - John Fleiger vs. Beverley’s Heirs——-O.S. 37; N. S. 13—Bill filed 15th January, 1803. Account of the mode of selling the Beverley Manor lands. On 20th March, 1773, Henry Hall made an entry with Patrick Buchanan, assistant surveyor and agent for Lewis, agent for Beverley. Survey made 2d November, 1787, for Anthony Mustoe and William Chambers. Hall sold to M. & C. in 1787. Following are representatives and heirs of Robert Beverley, viz: Robert, William, Mackenzie, Peter R., Carter, Byrd, Mundford Beverley, Corbin and Maria his wife, late Maria Beverley, -——————-———Randolph and Lucy his wife, late Lucy Beverley, Maria Munford Beverley, George Lee and Evelyn Byrd his wife, late Evelyn Byrd Beverley, Jane Brashaw Beverley and Harriet Beverley.
