Will of John Estill in Augusta County, VA Records

• Page 222.--5th August, 1774. John Estill's will (of Botetourt, yeoman) To wife, Rebeckah, a survey on New River opposite the Influx of Blue Stone, towards James McGuire's (McGuire) Survey; to daughter, Priscilla Gold, home tract on hands creek joining lands with Bond Estill and James Ellison. Executors, Benj. Estill and Wm. Hutchison. Teste: William Hutchison, Felty Koch (Valentine Cook). Proved, 18th September, 1781, by Hutchison and Cook. Hutchison refuses to execute. 20th March, 1782, administration granted Rebecca Estil; both the executors refused.

• Page 241.--20th May, 1782. John Estill's estate appraised by Walter Davis, Samuel Hunter, James Mitchell, Samuel Gibson.

• Page 523.--__ March, 1786. John Estill's estate settled.

(Note: this family needs more research. John Estill did not appear to have been married long enough to have a married daughter ("Priscilla Gold", born probably prior to 1758, when John Estill was only 17?) by the time of writing his will in 1774, since he had only been married about 10 years, and his wife Rebecca Christian would have been barely old enough to marry by 1764, so the question to be answered is who was Priscilla's mother?, or perhaps there was an error in transcribing the will?.).
