From Ancestry Message Board:
The John Clemens (B 1753 d 1832) who filed for the Revolutionary War Pension was married to Elizabeth Eakle (m 1790) and they had 5 children: Christopher, John, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Margaret. All of these children ended up in Jackson County TN although they were all born in Augusta, VA.
Although John and Elizabeth had a son John, I had never paid a lot of attention to him as it looked as though he had never married. When he died, there was a huge family fight over his estate (land and slaves) and a long court document remains (in Jackson County, Tennessee). He was portrayed as a drunkard and seems to have had a family (very young children when he died) with one of his slaves. He freed her and her children in his will and his sisters tried to negate this, it appears. I discovered this in Oct when I went to the State Libary in Nashville and can't find my notes right now so hope I have it right.
