[Note: John Brown is listed as "John Brown, Jr." in this record, but "Jr." was not necessarily used to mean that his father was a "Sr.". The term "Jr." was used to differentiate between persons, not necessarily related, of the same name, the elder "Sr.", and the younger "Jr.".
