~ Her parents were William Trenwith and Mary Trenwith, of Penzance, were married, on 21 July 1789, in Madron. The Banns for their marriage were on 5th, 12th, 19th July 1789. Witnesses were Richard Trenwith and Martin Wright, and the groom signed the Parish register, while the bride made her mark. Note: Madron Parish marriage and baptism records are notorious for not including the maiden name of the mother in marriage or banns records, or, the first name of the mother in the baptism records. Marriage records often simply used the surname of the husband, or referred to the woman as the "wife of". The surname Trenwith for Mary cannot be regarded as her maiden name. It is likely to be Blewett. Jane's Trenwith siblings were William born, 1790, Mary b. 1794 and William b. 1799. ~Jane's baptism on 11 July 1792 records her name as Jane Blewet Trenwith, d/o William, at Penzance. This indicate that her mother's maiden name was Blewett. Jane was also recorded as Jane Blewett Trenwith in the Banns for her marriage, ~ In 1808 and 1811, Jane Blewett Trenwith acted as witness at two marriages in Madron Parish. ~ Jane Trenwith may have had a son, William, at age 19. A William Pascoe was baptised in 1811, in Madron, son of William Pascoe. However, Madron Parish baptism records at this time did not name the mother of the baby, and William Pascoe born c.1811, may not have been baptised if he was illegitimate. She may not have been allowed to marry under age 21 by her father, and married William Pascoe at age 22. ~ Son William Pascoe born c.1811 always regarded Jane as his mother, and she was named as his mother on his death certificate. ~ Jane Blewett Trenwith and William Pascoe married after Banns, Jane, a spinster, William a bachelor, and both were noted as residents of the Town of Penzance. They both signed the register, which was unusual at this time. Witnesses were Wm Trembath, Charlotte Wright and Tobias Read. ~ They were listed in the 1841 Census living in Lower Rd. Helston with her family, and in the same street as her Pascoe father-in-law and his family. Their details appear on the same Census page. ~ On his death in 1844, William Pascoe left his wife, Jane the lease on The Golden Lion Inn, in Penzance. They had been living in the inn and running the business, with the help of servants. She ran the inn, probably with the help of her daughter Mary Eddy, and her husband, as the lease was left to them in Jane's will. ~ Jane Blewett Pascoe died aged 57 years. She was buried on 13 Jul 1849 at Helston, close to her husband. Her death was noted in the local newspaper The West Briton (and Cornwall Advertiser). The West Briton. ADMINISTRATION of all and singular the goods __ of Jane Pascoe late of Penzance Widow deceased was on the 9th day of April 1850 granted to Mary Pascoe the daughter and one of the next of kin of said deceased.
