Early Land Acquisition in Augusta County, VA

Land Patent: 1760, James Sayers, 100 acres on east side of Buffalo Creek. [History of Rockbridge County, Virginia, Morton, pg. 353].
Deed: McNair, Daniel to James Sayers, 147 acres of 400, patented 1750 - 80p - 1756, adjoining Thomas Gardner and Alexander Gibson. [History of Rockbridge County, Virginia, Morton, pg. 361].

Will Transcript

In the name of God Amen the 27th Day of October 1788, I James Sare being old and weak in Body but of perfect mind and Memory, Thanks be given to Dog though calling to mind the mortality of my Body knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally & first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent Christian Burrial at the discretion of Executors nothing Doubting but at the general Resurrection ___ receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form (Viz):
First I order and it is my will that all my Just debts be paid by my Executor.
Imprimis I give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife Elizabeth all my movable Estate now in her hands and a Negro man named Job during her natural life and at her decease the whole of the said Estate ___ to be equally divided amongst my Children to wit, William Sare, Marey Baxter and Pricilla Gore ~
Item I give and bequeath to one of my ___ not in my Executors namely Humphrey Montgomery my Bed and furniture now in my possession at said Montgomery's also a Mullatto Boy named Adam from this date until three full years after my Decease provided said Executor gives me Sufficient maintainance during my natural life and decent Burial after my decease then at the expiration of said three years after my decease I allow and it is my will that said Mulato Adam before and fully manumited forever ~
Lastly I do make ordain constitute and appoint Humphrey Montgomery, John Davidson and John Houston Executors of this my last Will and Testament ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disanul all and every other former wills, Legacies or Bequests by me in any time formerly Willed or Bequeathed.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day and year above Written.

This writing purporting the last will & Testament of James Sare Dec'd was presented in Court by Humphrey Montgomery one of the Exers. therein named & Jno, Jouston another Executor therein named appeared in Court and refused to take upon him the Burthen thereof was proved in Court by the oaths of said Jno. Houston & ordered to lie for further proof.
