Telegraph Herald (Dubuque, IA) - February 17, 2006 MAQUOKETA, Iowa - James L. "Worm" Regan, 72, of Maquoketa, formerly of Zwingle, died suddenly on Wednesday morning, Feb. 15, 2006, at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, La Motte, with the Rev. Paul Lippstock officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, La Motte. Mr. Regan had worked as a heavy-machine operator for the union in the Quad Cities, for many years. He was born on June 28, 1933, in Zwingle, son of John C. Regan and Kathryine (McCarthy) Regan. He was a graduate of La Motte High School. He had lived the majority of his life in Zwingle, until moving to Maquoketa, 11/2 years ago. James loved baseball and watching sports. He enjoyed following and attending all the local ballgames. Surviving are a son, John (Lisa) Regan, of Maquoketa; three grandchildren, Christian, Cody and Caitlin; five sisters, Amelia (Mrs. Neil) Bruck, of Bernard, Agnes (Mrs. Joe) Hayes, of Cascade, Margaret (Mrs. Gene) Stillmunkes, of Otter Creek, Pauline Takes, of Bernard, and Monica Hoerner, of Zwingle; a brother, Julien (Shirley) Regan, of Dubuque; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Regan, of Zwingle. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Jr., and Fred; and two sisters, Rita and Kate. A James L. "Worm" Regan Memorial Fund has been established.
