- Page 79.--6th September, 1800. John Brownlee, Sr.'s, will--To son, James Brownlee; son, Alexander; to son John's orphans; son, William; to daughter. Isabella; daughter, Rachel, and her son, John; to granddaughter, Sarah Brownlee, daughter to son James; to daughter, Margaret; to son-in-law. James Mitchell. Executors, sons James and William. Teste: James Mitchell, Sr.; Jno. Christian, Jno. Mitchell. Proved, 27th October, 1800, by all witnesses. (Note: James Mitchell married John Brownlee Sr.'s daughter Susanna Brownlee).
- Page 80.--29th April, 1800. John Brownlee, Jr.'s, will--To wife, Mary; to youngest son, Moffett Brownlee; to children, son William, son John. Executors, James Mitchel, James Moffett. Teste: John Christian, James Brownlee. Proved, 27th October, 1800. Executors qualify.
- Vol. 2 - Mitchell vs. Mitchell's administrator--O. S. 283; N. S. 100--Orator Thomas Mitchell, son of James Mitchell of Augusta, who died, 1816, intestate, leaving widow Susanna and children, viz: Orator John, Robert James, Wilson, William, Betsey and Sally Mitchell.
