James Logan Sr. and family resided on what is known as Collier's Creek, Rockbridge Co., VA. He died in Lincoln Co., KY and his will is dated 5-23-1787 and probated on either 7-15-1788 or 7-22-1790. This is recorded in book "A" page 116 or 156. James was in the Augusta Co., VA militia in 1758. He was no. 46 on the list of John Murray's Company from Botetourt Co. VA. He joined on 9-10-1774. This is recorded on page 6 Kegley's VA Frontiers. He was an elder in the Rockbridge Co., Presbyterian Church.
