Per telephone conversation 12 Oct 2016 with RMC. 21 Jan 2022 RC talked with Aunt Pat about when Jim was drafted and she confirmed story that Jim was a Marion Harding HS senior when he received his draft notice, probably in Jan or Feb of 1944. Jim's parents appealed to the draft board to let Jim finish his HS education but request was denied. Jim was home on a 3 day leave in July 1944 when the family photos were taken. He was in Patton's army when it liberated Czechoslovakia (April/May 1945).
