  • Land Survey (Survey No. 5482): 21 January 1783, Survey for James Black, 1,000 acres on Stoners Fork & Licking. [Original Deed Book 7, page 20].
  • Land Grant: 1 April 1785, James Black was granted 1,000 acres by the registers office by patent "being a part of a tract of 1,000 acres granted unto said James Black by a patent from the registers office" from indentures made to Alexander, John and James Black, his sons and heirs. On July 19, 1791, James deed to each of these sons 285 acres from his tract or a total of 855 acres keeping 100 acres for himself. [1]
