- Page 17 - Jacob Lincoln, 200 acres, East side of Linvils Creek. Adjoining Robert Belsheer. Surveyed in consequence of Abraham Lincoln entry of 200 acres dated July 14, 1770, and by him assigned to the above Jacob Lincoln, January 2, 1782. [Abstract of Land Grant Surveys, 1761-1791, Augusta & Rockingham Counties, Virginia, by Peter Cline Kaylor, pg. 102]. (Note: Abraham Lincoln listed in this record was the older brother of Jacob, and also was the grandfather of President Abraham Lincoln).

- Lincoln, Jacob - entered service 1781 in company of Captain Abraham Lincoln (kinship not given), Virginia militia; entered service 1781 in Virginia regiment; died 2/20/1822 in Rockingham County, Virginia; married 8/1780 Dorcas Robertson, who was born 3/15/1763; widow died 1/25/1840 leaving children: David (b. 6/28/1781), Abraham/Abram, Mary/Polly widow of William Hinton/Henton, Jacob, Abigail wife of Joseph Coffman of Rockingham County, VA, Dorcas wife of John Strayer of Shenandoah County, VA & Rebecca wife of Mathew Dyer of Pendleton County, VA; children dec'd on 2/22/1837 were John, Elizabeth (left son John Chresman/Chrisman), Hannah (left daughter's Caroline & Josephine Evans), son Abrah/Abraham who applied for Pension due mother & Pension Application Rejected, insufficient proof of service; query letter 1933 from descendant Celia Lincoln Sawyer, Decatur, Illinois, who was great grand-daughter of soldier David who was granted Pension for War of 1812 service.
